Peaches + Keen hanging planters

Friday, 5 October 2012

Here's a little bit of fluro goodness to brighten up your Friday and get you pumped for the weekend! You may have seen these fab hanging planters making the blog rounds recently, but after seeing them in person the other week in Five Boroughs, I couldn't help but post about them too. They're just so bright and happy! These planters come from Melbourne-based label Peaches + Keen, which is made up of Lily Daley, a graphic designer, and Lucy Hearn, a gold and silversmith. The pair met on a design and photography course back in 2003 and became good friends, and after going off to complete their separate degrees, decided to combine forces and skills to share their love of all things bold and bright and to create tactile, one-off items that make people smile.

Taking their inspiration from colour, pattern and nature, Lily and Lucy create a range of artworks, jewellery, crochet hanging planters and my favourites, these bright and beautiful woven bead planters.

In order to keep things fresh and vibrant, Lily and Lucy are constantly coming up with new ideas for things they want to create, so if you like what you see they might just be worth keeping an eye on. To see more, check out the Peaches + Keen website and online shop, and if you're in Melbourne on 19 and 20 October, why not check their goods out in person at the Finders Keepers market. Happy weekend all!
