Acorn & Whale Letterpress

More letterpress goodness today! I love these simple typographic prints from Acorn & Whale, a Phoenix, Arizona-based letterpress studio run by Lindsay Tingstrom, formerly of SeeSaw Designs. Lindsay's minimalist black and white prints are inspired by New Year's resolutions, and explore broad self-improvement tactics such as 'be kind', 'keep it simple', 'do the work', 'live every day' and 'be curious'. Simple messages, but wise words to live by (I think I might just need hang the 'do the work' print above my desk, just as a polite reminder!).

Each design is printed by hand using an antique Brandtjen & Kluge press onto 100% cotton paper. I tend to frame my prints, but I do like the idea of displaying them using vintage hangers. I've been seeing this around a lot lately, and I like the idea that you can actually see the tactile quality of the letterpress printing, which can sometimes get lost behind glass.
