Caroline Pratt is a printmaker and surface pattern designer based in Leeds, UK. Caroline creates illustrations for a variety of applications including limited edition prints and commercial designs for childrenswear and stationery, and is also a part-time printed textiles lecturer. I came across Caroline's pattern designs via her Society6 shop, and then discovered that she has some very bright and fun screen prints available in her Etsy shop, which you can see here.

Caroline composes her designs using drawn and paper cut motifs and then screen prints by hand onto acid-free paper. Caroline's work is retro in style, and much of her inspiration comes from bold, 1950s modernist textiles, as well as her love of nature and wildlife, books, magazines, packaging design and junk shop rummaging.

I like how Caroline's prints are suitable for all ages – I'm sure children would take delight in the bright colours and cute motifs just as much as adults (or should that be the other way round?). If you'd like to see more from Caroline's portfolio check out her website, and to purchase prints and other goods visit Caroline's Etsy and Society6 online shops.
