Hello all, I hope you had a great weekend. I wanted to kick the week off with this fantastic new collection of nature-inspired kitchen accessories called Bliss in the Woods, which has been developed as a collaboration between British interiors and homewares brands Bliss Home and Our Workshop. Mike and Gabrielle Bliss of Bliss Home wanted to develop a range around animals that was very British, as well as being affordable and contemporary, not too twee or modern, and with broad family appeal. They approached Pui and Gemma of Our Workshop in late 2010, and a woodland theme was chosen due to its natural charm, and also because it allowed for a special touch of eccentricity.
Pui and Gemma found the process of creating the Bliss in the Woods range extremely rewarding, from developing the product ideas, seeing the prototypes come together to designing the packaging. They wanted to develop a range that would age well and add charm over time, and I think this is something they have certainly achieved. Plus it's also very fun – who wouldn't want to pour their tea from a fabulous bird tea pot, store spaghetti in a ceramic owl jar or take a pinch of salt from an adorable salt bird? I know I would!
